Disabled Mage_Core…Now Frontend & Backend Are Blank
0 Comments | Posted by sneako in Whoops/Created Errors
While messing around with the admin settings of Magento you may have stumbled on the ability to enable/disable features of Magento. Among this list is “Mage_Core” which happens to include the basic backbones of the entire operation. You disabled this however and now all pages are blank so you can’t re-enable it. What to do, what to do…—————————————-
These settings save their values within the database so you don’t need the admin panel to re-enable them, perform the following steps to bring the website back:
—————————————-
1) Login to your MySQL database and open your main Magento table
—————————————-
2) Click on “Search” and type in “Mage_Core” (without the quotes).
—————————————-
3) Scroll down and find: 1 match(es) inside table core_config_data and click on “Browse”
—————————————-
4) Assuming this is the setting that you disabled you should see a “1” under the “value” column. Change this “1” to “0” and save.
—————————————-
5) Reload Magento Admin and it should all be back.
—————————————-
Make sure you study prior to making changes to your Magento Admin section. These settings have great ramifications as to the operations of the website.
